It occurred to me a few years ago that I spend a lot of time between the ocean and the sky.
It comes from Kitesurfing which blasted into my life 23 years ago.
I’ve always been an adrenaline junky, and a wave addict. Kitesurfing ticked all the boxes.
The freedom it brings me (especially when i am alone at my home spot) permeates and completes my musical freedom. And sometime it creeps in, like in this song.

“Between the Ocean and the Sky” was born during a kitesurfing trip in Namibia relatively recently.

It was fueled by a feeling of disconnection with some people, my inability to be social and the sanctuary that Kitesurfing gives me.

Of course don’t read too much into it. It is just a silly song.

As for the production, I played everything. I don’t like doing that as there are infinitely better Guitarists, Bass players and drummers out there than me. Having grown quite recluse and being far away from people most of the time has its downside. And then the music in my head gets too loud

So have a listen, or not, it doesn’t matter.
