All aboard the night train … on a funky ride to a Funky Town

Funk originated in the mid late 1960’s when African American musicians blended soul, jazz and R&B into a new form of rhythmic, danceable music.Since then it has been a cornerstone of feel good music across the decades.

It’s all about the groove. Brother James Brown is often considered the father of funk, but he’s by no means the only one and many have followed in his wake…

The original word “funk” strangely refers to a strong offensive odor. It must have something to do with bands getting down and sweating it out. And that is just what “Funky Town” is going to do; get down, but without the bad smell!

Funk makes you want to move… And how can you not move to the tunes of Earth Wind and Fire, Cool and the gang, Prince, George Benson, Al Jarreau, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Jamiroquai and many more

The show features a 9 piece band fronted by 3 singers.

Together they wind down this unforgettable repertoire of songs.

So get your ticket to the funkiest ride in town. It will be a challenge because with that kind of groove pumping, you’ll have a hard time sitting still.
